PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Rear brake lever After adjusting the rear brake pedalcontact the low end of the brake lever adjuster plate with the brake pedal pin by turning the locknuts CD The brake lever play as measured at the lever holder should be 3-7 mm (0.1-0.3 in) when the lever is lightly pulled in towards the gripIf adjustment is necessary, slacken the cable by loosening the locknut and screwing the adjuster on the brake lever holder all the way in After adjusting the play, tighten the locknut Brake lever play

Rear brake lining wear limit This vehicle is equipped with brake lining wear limit indicator on the brake panelAt the condition of normal lining wear, an extended line from the index mark on the brake camshaft should be within the range embossed on the brake panel with the brake on To check wear of the brake lining, follow the steps below First check if the brake system is properly adjusted While operating the brakecheck to see that the extension line from the index mark is within the range on the brake panel If the extension line is outside the range, the brake shoe assembly should be replaced to ensure safe operation
