PERIODI MAINTENANCE AND TUNE UP PROCEDURES
RECOIL STARTER ADJUSTMENT Loosen the adjuster lock nut and turn the
recoil adjuster clockwise as far as it will go Set the parking brake and make sure that the
rear wheels are locked Turn the recoil adjuster counter-clockwise by half turn and pull the starter grip slowly to see if the ratchet engages and engine can be
cranked
If the recoil starter does not crank the engineturn the recoil ad juster counter-clockwise by another half turnRepeat th is procedure until the starter ratchet
mechanism begins to engage to crank the engi ne After loca ting the recoil adjuster at this point, turn it counter-clockwise 112 more turns nd then fix the recoil adj uster by tightening the adjuster lock nut
