ELECTRICAL Coolant Temperature Fan SwitchH.OThe coolant temperature fan switch can be tested using an ohmmeterIf the fan switch circuit is open or failed, the engine "HOT" light displays but the fan will not operateIt is recommended that the fan switch be removed for testing, as testing on the engine can be difficult to obtain true test reading1With the engine and temperature sensor at room temperature (68F20C), disconnect the harness connector2Drain the coolant sufficient enough to allow fan switch removalRemove the fan switch from the cylinder head (recommended)3Place the fan switch in water bathDo not allow the sensor to touch the bottom of the water containerSlowly heat the water to 190F (88C) minimumUse the TemperatureResistance table to determine if the sensor needs to be replaced
