TRANSMISSION 15Install the detent star onto the shift drum shaftBe sure to install the detent star with the raised edge facing outward18Apply Crankcase Sealant (3-Bond) (PN 2871557) onto the cover and transmission case mating surfaceInstall the sector cover and torque the bolts to specification
Sector Cover Bolts: 8-12 ftlbs(11-16 Nm) 19Install the bellcrank onto the shift shaftNote the key splined on the bellcrank and shift shaftInstall the nut and torque to specificationDetent Star
16Install the detent pawl onto the shift shaft and carefully install the compression springBellcrank Nut: 12-18 ftlbs(16-24 Nm) 20Install the shift shaft onto the bellcrank end (if removed) and secure with the snap bushing
