ENGINE 6Subtract rocker shaft O.Dfrom rocker armshaft support I.DThis is the oil clearanceCompare to specificationsRocker Shaft Oil Clearance: Std: .0008.0021" (.020.054 mm) Limit: .0039" (.10 mm) 7Inspect rocker adjuster screws for wear, pitting, or damage to threads of the adjuster or locknutReplace all worn or damaged partsNOTE: The end of the adjuster screw is hardened and cannot be ground or re-faced5Inspect camshaft end cap (thrust face) for wearReplace if worn or damaged
Camshaft Removal
1Remove thermostat housing
6Place clean shop towel in the area below cam chain sprocket and remove sprocket retaining bolts7Slide camshaft inward to allow removal of cam sprocket and remove sprocket from camshaft and chain
