ENGINE 10Disconnect the engine wiring harness from the throttle body (IAC, MAP, TPS)500 EFI Fuel Line IAC 20Remove the (2) head pipe fasteners and disconnect the exhaust from the engineRemove exhaust as needed

11Remove the outer clutch cover with PVT outlet duct, drive belt, drive clutch, driven clutch and inner clutch cover (see Chapter 6)12Place small catch-container under the carburetor and carefully disconnect the fuel line400 ONLY 13Place small catch-container under the fuel rail and carefully disconnect the fuel line from the rail500 EFI 14Loosen the clamps and support bracket that secure the carburetor to the intake manifold400 ONLY 15Remove the carburetor and support it out of the wayDo not allow the carburetor to hang from the throttle or choke cables400 ONLY 16Loosen the clamps that attach the throttle body to the engine intake bootsRemove the throttle body and support it out of the wayDo not allow the throttle body to hang from the throttle cable500 EFI 17Insert shop towel into the intake manifold to prevent dirt from entering the intake port18Remove transmission linkage rod from gear selector and secure out of the way19Remove the rear PVT inlet from the engine crankcase
