FINAL DRIVE Inner Plunging JointBoot Replacement
1Using side cutters, cut away and discard the boot clamps5Make sure the circlip is on the shaft and not left in the jointCirclip
62Remove the large end of the boot from the plunging joint and slide the boot down the shaft
Remove the boot from the shaft
Complete disassembly of the plunging joint is NOT recommendedThe internal components are precision fit and develop their own characteristic wear patternsIntermixing the internal components could result in looseness, binding, andor premature failure of the jointIMPORTANT: If the grease in the joint is obviously contaminated with water andor dirt, the joint should be replaced
