This procedure should NOT be used on EPS modelsUsing this procedure on an EPS model can permanently damage the EPS unit and cause Power Steering Fault123Remove the steering wheel capLoosen the nut and back it half way off the steering shaftWith glove on your hand, place it under the steering wheelLift upward on the inner portion of the steering wheel while using hammer to strike the steering shaft nut2
Steering Shaft Removal (Non-EPS Models)
1Remove the pinch bolt retaining the lower portion of the steering shaft to the steering gear box assemblySteering Shaft Pinch Bolt
