The break-in period consists of the first 25 hours of operation, or the time it takes to use 14 gallons (53 liters) of fuelCareful treatment of new engine and drive components will result in more efficient performance and longer life for these components

Use only Polaris PS-4 PLUS Synthetic Engine OilNever substitute or mix oil brandsSerious engine damage and voiding of warranty can resultDo not operate at full throttle or high speeds for extended periods during the first three hours of useExcessive heat can build up and cause damage to close fitted engine parts12345Fill fuel tank with unleaded fuel which has minimum pump octane number of 87(R+ M)2Check oil level indicated on dipstickAdd oil if necessary (Refer to Chapter 2, "Engine Oil Level")Drive slowly at first to gradually bring engine up to operating temperatureVary throttle positionsDo not operate at sustained idle or sustained high speedPerform regular checks on fluid levels, controls and all important bolt torquesPull only light loads during initial break-inChange oil and oil filter after break-in period at 25 hours
