MAINTENANCE Cooling System Pressure Test
Refer to Chapter for cooling system pressure test procedure23Carefully straighten any bent radiator finsRemove any obstructions with compressed air or low pressure water
Cooling System Hoses
1Inspect all hoses for cracks, deterioration, abrasion or leaksReplace if necessary
Washing the vehicle with high-pressure washer could damage the radiator fins and impair the radiators effectivenessUse of highpressure washer is not recommended
Coolant DrainRadiator Removal
Coolant Drain 1Remove the hood from the front cab
Never drain the coolant when the engine and radiator are warm or hotHot coolant can cause severe burnsAllow engine and radiator to cool2Check tightness of all hose clamps234Slowly remove the pressure cap to relieve any cooling system pressurePlace suitable drain pan underneath the radiator fitting on the front RH side of the vehicleDrain the coolant from the radiator by removing the lower coolant hose from the radiator as shownProperly dispose of the coolant
