MAINTENANCE Main GearcaseLubricant Level Check: The fill plug is located on the side of the gearcase just below the shift lever bell crankMaintain the fluid level even with the bottom of the fill plug hole12Position vehicle on level surfaceRemove the filllevel plug and check the fluid level89567Add the recommended fluid through the fill plug hole until it begins to flow out the level plug holeDo not overfillReinstall the level check plug and torque to 30-45 inlbs(3-5 Nm)Reinstall the fill plug and torque to 40-50 ftlbs(54-68 Nm)
Main Gearcase Lubricant Change: Remove the filllevel plug (refer to "Main Gearcase Lubricant Level Check")Place drain pan under the main gearcase drain plug
10Remove the drain plug and allow to drain completely11Clean and reinstall the drain plug with new O-ringTorque to 30-45 inlbs(3-5 Nm)12Add the recommended fluid through the fill plug holeMaintain the fluid level at the bottom of the fill plug hole when filling the Main GearcaseDo not overfill13Reinstall the filllevel plug and torque to 40-50 ftlbs(54-68 Nm)14Check for leaksDiscard the used lubricant properly
