ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) SWITCH
Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Switch
The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) switch is designed to close during throttle movement in the event the throttle cable sticks or breaksWhen the throttle lever is at idle position, the ETC switch contacts should be closed (touching)When the throttle lever is moved the contacts will open and allow normal operationIf the contacts remain closed or become closed during throttle movement, the ECM will limit engine RPM
GEAR SELECTOR SWITCH
Selector Switch Function Test
1Locate the gear selector switch on the transmissionRemove the wiring harness connector and insert the multimeter probes into the switchMove the gear selector handle to each of the drive positions (HIGH, LOW, NEUTRAL, REV, or PARK)Test for continuity between the switch contacts and connector leadsReplace the switch if no continuity or high resistance is found in any of the gear positions
