CLUTCHING (PVT) Clutch Disassembly
1Using permanent marker, mark the cover, spider, and moveable and stationary sheaves for reference, as the cast in X's may not have been in alignment before disassembly5Inspect area on shaft where bushing rides for wear, galling, nicks, or scratchesReplace clutch assembly if worn or damagedInspect Shaft
62Mark the stationary sheave and clutch shaft to verify the shaft has not turned in the sheave after tightening the spider during clutch assemblyRemove cover bolts evenly in cross pattern and remove cover plateInspect cover bushing (A)The outer cover bushing is manufactured with Teflon coatingWear is determined by the amount of Teflon remaining on the bushing
Remove and inspect the clutch springSee "Drive Clutch Spring Specifications" for spring inspection
