COOLING SYSTEM Cooling System Bleeding Procedure
1Place the vehicle in PARK
RADIATOR
Radiator Cleaning
1Check radiator air passages for restrictions or damage
CAUTION
Be sure the engine has cooled and there is no pressure built up in the cooling system before removing the radiator capThe coolant may be hot and could cause severe injury or burns234Remove the front rack to access the radiator pressure cap and recovery bottleRemove the pressure cap and top off coolantLeave the pressure cap off at this pointRemove recovery bottle fill cap and fill the bottle to the "MAX" lineReinstall the recovery bottle cap
NOTE: If the coolant level is LOW in the radiator, or if there are leaks in the system, the coolant system will not draw coolant from the recovery bottle5Start the engine and allow it to idle for 5-10 minutes until the thermostat opens and allows coolant to travel through the entire system23Carefully straighten any bent radiator finsRemove any obstructions with compressed air or low pressure water
