StatorAlternator Removal
1234Remove the fuel tank (see Chapter 3)Remove the (4) screws retaining the engine skid plate and remove the plate from the vehiclePlace drain pan under the front portion of the engineRemove the coolant hose from the water pump housing
NOTE: If there are any significant variations in ohm readings between the three legs, one of the three stator legs may be weak or failedTEST 2: Resistance Value of Each Stator Leg to Ground 1Measure the resistance value of each of the stator legs to groundTest Battery Charge Coil Connect Meter Leads To: Y1, Y2, or Y3 to Ground Ohms Reading Open Line (Infinity) Coolant Inlet Hose 5Slowly drain the coolant into the drain panDispose of used coolant properly
