Tie RodTie Rod End Replacement
Use the following procedure to replace the tie rod assembly or tie rod ends1Elevate front of vehicle and safely support machine under the frame area567 If replacing just the tie rod end (D), loosen the jam nut (E) and remove the rod end Install new rod end and torque jam nuts to specificationInstall the new tie rod assembly (C)Install the rod ends and fasteners (B) in the proper orientation (see illustration)Torque the tie rod end fasteners to specification and install new cotter pins
Serious injury may result if machine tips or fallsBe sure machine is secure before beginning this service procedureAlways wear eye protection234Remove the (4) wheel nuts and remove the front wheel(s)Remove the cotter pins (A) and tie rod end fasteners (B)Remove the tie rod assembly (C)8
