4Remove water pump drive coupler damper (D)
The rotor contains powerful magnetsUse caution when removing and installing the stator coverDO NOT place fingers between cover and crankcase at any time during the removalinstallation process or injury could resultDo not attempt to lift the upper crankcasecylinder from the lower crankcase for pistonring access without first removing the lower crankcase and connecting rod caps from the crankshaftPistons must be removed through the top of the cylinders with the connecting rod attached12Remove cylinder head (beginning on page 5.26)Remove all water pump cover screws (A) and stator cover screws (B), noting location of wire clamp (C)NOTE: Water pump cover removal is not required unless water pump or cover gasket service will be performedWater pump service is described on page 5.59Use the end of Flywheel Puller PA-49316 to remove coupler nut
