MAINTENANCE Rear Gearcase Lubrication
NOTE: It is important to follow the rear gearcase maintenance intervals described in the Periodic Maintenance ChartRegular fluid level inspections should be performed as wellThe rear gearcase fluid level should be checked and changed in accordance with the maintenance schedule Be sure vehicle is positioned on level surface when checking or changing the fluid Check vent hose to be sure it is routed properly and unobstructedRear Gearcase Fluid Level Check: The fill plug is located on the right side of the rear gearcaseMaintain the fluid level even with the bottom threads of the fill plug hole12Position the vehicle on level surfaceRemove the fill plug and check the fluid levelGearcase fluid flush with the bottom of thread area
Rear Gearcase Fluid Change: The drain plug is located on the bottom right-hand side of the rear gearcaseAccess the drain plug from the rear right-hand side of the ATV123Remove the fill plug (refer to "Rear Gearcase Fluid Level Check")Place drain pan under the rear gearcase drain plugRemove the drain plug and allow the fluid to drain completely
