MAINTENANCE Air FilterPre-Filter Service
It is advisable to replace the filter when it is dirtyHowever, in an emergency, it is permissible to clean the main filter if you observe the following practices Never immerse the filter in water since dirt can be transferred to the clean air side of the filter If compressed air is used never exceed pressure of 40 PSIAlways use dispersion type nozzle to prevent filter damage and clean from the inside to the outsideIt is recommended that the air filter and pre filter be replaced annuallyWhen riding in extremely dusty conditions, replacement is required more oftenRemoval: 1Remove the seat to access the airbox coverCleaning: 4567Slip the pre-filter screen off of main elementClean the prefilter with hot soapy waterRinse and dry thoroughlyInspect pre-filter screen for tears or damageInspect main filter and replace if necessaryIf the filter has been soaked with fuel or oil it must be replaced
