BRAKES 3Inspect vent slots (A) in cover and remove any debris or blockageC Sight Glass A

D Ill1 4If changing fluid, remove old fluid from reservoir with Mity Vac pump or similar toolG Install wrench on the brake line banjo bolt (E) to hold the banjo bolt in placeInstall box end wrench on the caliper bleeder screw (F)G Attach clean, clear hose to bleeder screw (F) and place the other end in clean containerNOTE: Fluid may be forced from supply port (B) when brake lever is pumpedPlace diaphragm (C) in reservoir to prevent spillsDo not install coverSee Illustration 17Slowly pump brake lever (D) until pressure builds and holds8While maintaining lever pressure, hold the banjo bolt (E) with the wrench and open the top bleeder screw (F)Close bleeder screw and release brake leverNOTE: Do not release lever before bleeder screw is tight or air may be drawn into caliperBleeder Screw Torque 25-30 in.lbs(2.80 -3.40 Nm) Polaris DOT Brake Fluid (PN 2870990) 9Repeat procedure until clean fluid appears in bleeder hose and all air has been purgedAdd fluid as necessary to maintain level in reservoirCAUTION: Maintain at least 12 (1.27 cm) of brake fluid in the reservoir to prevent air from entering the master cylinder10Tighten bleeder screw securely and remove bleeder hoseTorque the bleeder screw to 2530 in.lbs(2.80 3.40 Nm)
