FUEL SYSTEMCARBURETION
FUEL PUMP DISASSEMBLY
1Remove the screws from the pump diaphragm coverNote the location of the two longer screws2Remove the diaphragm cover gasket, diaphragm, and valve body gasket3Remove the outlet check valve cover, diaphragm, and gasketBowl Mating Surface

FUEL PUMP INSPECTIONASSEMBLY
1Inspect inlet and outlet check valves for cracks, warpage or damageInspect the diaphragms for cracks, holes or swelling2To clean the valves or pump body, remove the set screw and washerRemove the valve and wash with soap and waterCarburetor cleaner may be used to clean the pump body when the check valves are removedCAUTION: Some carburetor cleaners are very caustic and should not be used to clean the non-metal parts of the fuel pump3Check the sealing surfaces of the pump body and coversCarefully remove all traces of old gasket and check the surfaces for damageReplace diaphragms and gaskets as set4Reassemble the pump in the reverse order of disassemblyTighten all screws evenly
