Press the shaft seal rings out of the gasket carrier Press in the new shaft seal rings with the open side on the outside until flushCarefully grease the sealing lips Remove the O-rings from the gasket carrier and remove any residual gasket material with brush Mount new O-ringsNOTE: The two O-rings are different sizesThe smaller one is mounted on the outside, i.efacing the water pump wheelThe gasket carrier can be pulled out of the cylinder head with the two M3 threads without having to remove the cylinder head top section
NOTE: To prevent coolant leaks, it's recommended to remove the top section of the cylinder head along with the gasket carrierSealant can then be added to both components upon reassembly to prevent leakage from the mating surface areas
