ELECTRICAL Starter System Testing Flow Chart
Condition: Starter fails to turn motorNOTE: Make sure engine crankshaft is free to turn before proceeding with dynamic testing of starter systemA digital multi-meter must be used for this testWith the tester on the VDC position, place the tester's black lead on the battery negative and the red lead on the battery positiveReading should be 12.5 VDC or greaterRemove battery and properly serviceInstall fully charged shop battery to continue test

Yes Check voltage on both sides of 10 Amp circuit breaker, ignition switchengine stop switch, and starter buttonBattery voltage should be present on both sidesNOTE: The ignition switch must be on and the engine stop switch in the "RUN" positionCheck the clutch and neutral start diode circuits, as they supply ground path for the solenoid operationReplace the defective component(s) or wiring
