BODYSTEERINGSUSPENSION 789Pull on the joint to test that the circlip is seated and that the joint is securely fastened to the shaftAdd any remaining grease to the boot and remove any excess grease from the CV joint's external surfacesPull the boot over the joint and position the boot lips into the grooves on the joint housing and shaftMake sure the boot is not dimpled or collapsed
CV Joint Installation
1Slide shaft assembly into bearing carrier hub
10Tighten the large clamp using an appropriate clamp pliers11Fully extend the CV joint by pulling on the shaft and slide straight O-ring pick or small screwdriver between the small end of the boot and the shaftThis will allow the air pressure to equalize in the CV boot in the position that the joint will spend most of its lifeBefore you remove your instrument, be sure the small end of the boot is in its correct location on the shaft
