ENGINE Engine Installation Notes
After the engine is installed in the frame, review the following checklist and perform all steps that apply: Engine Mounting Torque "MXR""S" Models Torque the front LH frame mount M8 bolts to 17 ftlbs(23 Nm) Torque (lowerfront) M10 through-bolts to 30 ftlbs(41 Nm) Torque (rear) M14 swing arm bolt to 85-105 ftlbs(115-142 Nm) "IRS" Models Torque the front LH frame mount M8 bolts to 17 ftlbs(23 Nm) Torque (rearlowerfront) M10 through-bolts to 30 ftlbs(41 Nm)M10M14 Reinstall "star" washer to ensure good ground path between enginechassis
Adjust chain tension according to procedure provided in Chapter 2Exhaust Replace exhaust seal if necessary Verify all fasteners are in good condition and torqued properlyBleed Cooling System NOTE: Refer to Page 3.7 for hose routingBleeding is generally necessary after repairs to purge any air that may remain in the system during filling1Loosen the M6 coolant bleed screw located in the top right-hand side of the cylinder head, 2-3 turns
