MAINTENANCE GENERAL VEHICLE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
Pre-RideDaily Inspection
Perform the following pre-ride inspection daily, and when servicing the vehicle at each scheduled maintenance Tirescheck condition and pressures Fuel tankfill to proper level All brakescheck operation and adjustment Throttlecheck for free operation and closing HeadlightsTaillightsBrakelightsalso check operation of all indicator lights and switches Ignition switchcheck for proper function Wheelscheck for tightness of wheel nuts and axle nuts; check to be sure axle nuts are secured by cotter pins Air cleaner elementcheck for dirt; clean or replace Steeringcheck for free operation noting any unusual looseness in any area Loose partsvisually inspect vehicle for any damaged or loose nuts, bolts or fasteners Engine coolantcheck for proper level at the recovery bottle Check all front and rear suspension components for wear or damage1
Shift Cable InspectionAdjustment
Shift cable adjustment may be necessary if symptoms include: No AWD or gear position display on instrument cluster Ratcheting noise on deceleration Inability to engage into gear Excessive gear clash (noise) Gear selector moving out of desired range Locate the shift cable in the rear LH wheel well area
