FINAL DRIVE 2From the back side, tap on the outer bearing race with drift punch in the reliefs as shown
FRONT DRIVE SHAFT (CV) SERVICE
Removal
12345Set the ATV in parkRemove hub dust capRemove cotter pinLoosen the hub retaining nutLoosenbut do not removethe wheel nutsSafely lift and support the front of the ATV
CAUTION
Serious injury could occur if machine tips or falls67NOTE: Drive bearing out evenly by tapping on outer race onlyOnce bearing is at bottom of casting, support casting on outer edges so bearing can be removed3Inspect the bearingNOTE: Due to extremely close tolerances and minimal wear, the bearings must be inspected visually, and by feelWhile rotating bearings by hand, inspect for rough spots, discoloration, or corrosionThe bearings should turn smoothly and quietly, with no detectable up and down movement and minimal movement sideways between inner and outer race4Inspect bearing housing for scratches, wear or damageReplace housing if damagedRemove wheelRemove the two brake caliper attaching boltsCAUTION
