ENGINE 8Install breather reed (G) into rocker cover (H)Lightly apply black RTV sealant to the outer edges of the breather reedThe reed has tab and will assemble one-way onlyTorque the breather bolts to specification11Install thermostat (J), new O-ring, and thermostat housingTorque to specification
Breather Bolt Toque: 20 inlbs(2.5 0.55 Nm) NOTE: When applying RTV, do not get any RTV inside the reed assemblyPlace new seal (I) into the bottom of the coverBe sure the seal is seated into the cover properlyIMPORTANT: Before assembly, clean the bolts and bolt holes with Primer (PN 2870585) to remove any debrisThis will ensure proper sealing when installing bolts20 (2.5 in.lbs.55 Nm) 9
