ENGINE NOTE: Only remove the oil baffle if the baffle is damagedWhen removing the oil baffle bolts, use heat gun to heat the bolts and loosen the Loctite This will prevent any possible damage to the bolts or to the crankcase casting39Remove and clean oil pick up (V) and oil baffle weldment (W)41Remove and inspect crankshaft main journal bearings for abnormal wearIt is recommended to replace the bearings anytime the engine is disassembled
NOTE: Plain bearing clearances may be checked using commercially available plasti-gauge material
