Engine Removal (TYPICAL)
1234Clean work areaThoroughly clean the ATV engine and chassisDisconnect battery negative(-) cableRemove the following parts as required Seat Left and Right Side Covers (Refer to Chapter 5) Fuel Tank CoverFront Cab (Refer to Chapter 5) Fuel Tank (Refer to Chapter 4) 5678910111213141516171819Disconnect spark plug high tension leadRemove springs from exhaust pipe and remove pipeDrain coolant and engine oilRemove air pre-cleaner and ductRemove airboxRemove carburetorInsert shop towel into the carburetor flange to prevent dirt from entering the intake portRemove center chain guard on chain drive AWD modelsRemove center drive and driven sprocket bolts and remove chain and sprockets as an assemblyRefer to PVT System to remove outer clutch cover, drive belt, drive clutch, driven clutch, and inner coverStarter motorNote ground cable locationMark positive (+) cable mounting angle and remove cableRemove transmission linkage rod(s) from gear selector and secure out of the wayDisconnect coolant temperature sensor wireRemove engine to chassis ground cableRemove all engine mount nuts andor engine mount platesRemove engine through right side of frame
