TRANSMISSION Shift Cable InspectionAdjustment
Shift cable adjustment may be necessary if symptoms include: No AWD or gear position display on instrument cluster Ratcheting noise on deceleration Inability to engage gear Excessive gear clash (noise) Gear selector moving out of desired range 1Locate the shift cable in the rear LH wheel well areaClevis Pin Shift Cable Mount 754Adjust the shift cable so there is the same amount of cable travel when shifting slightly past the detents of HIGH (H) gear and PARK (P)Thread the upper or lower jam nut as required to obtain proper cable adjustment
NOTE: This procedure may require few attempts to obtain the proper adjustment6Once the proper adjustment is obtained, place the shift cable and upper jam nut into the mountTighten the lower jam nut against the mountStart engine and shift through all gears to ensure the shift cable is properly adjustedIf transmission still ratchets after cable adjustment, check the CVT system for belt movement at idleIf difficulty shifting persists, the transmission may require service
