FINAL DRIVE 2Support inner yoke as shown and drive outer yoke down (bearing cap out) with soft face hammer2Tighten vise to force bearing caps in
33Support U-joint in vise as shown and drive inner yoke down to remove remaining bearing caps
Using suitable arbor, fully seat the bearing cap in one sideContinually check for free movement of bearing cross as bearing caps are assembled4Force U-joint cross to one side and lift out of inner yoke456Install snap ring to contain bearing cap just installedRepeat procedure for other sideInstall outer yoke, aligning marks made at disassembly and repeat Steps 1-3 to install bearing caps on outer yokeSeat all bearing caps against snap rings by supporting cross shaft and tapping on each corner as shown
