ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION 3Install new sensor using light coating of oil on the o-ring to aid installationBolt Intake Boot T-BAP The two-tooth gap creates an "interrupt" input signal, corresponding to specific crankshaft position for PTO cylinderThis signal serves as reference for the control of ignition timing by the ECUSynchronization of the CPS and crankshaft position takes place during the first two revolutions each time the engine is startedThis sensor must be properly connected at all timesIf the sensor fails or becomes disconnected for any reason, the engine will quit running
CPS Test
The CPS is sealed, non-serviceable assemblyIf fault code diagnosis indicates problem within this sensor, test as follows: 14Torque the T-BAP retaining bolt to specificationDisconnect CPS (3-wire) harness connector on the lefthand side of the vehicle located below the transmissionCPS Connector
