ENGINE (300) 5Open the staked portion of the nut (A) with center punchInspect the one-way clutch hub surface on the starting clutch (B)The hub must be smooth without any nicks or burrsReplace the starting clutch assembly if the one-way clutch hub is uneven or damagedInspect entire surface of one-way clutch hub8Inspect the shoes and springs of the starting clutchMeasure the thickness of the friction material on the shoes as shown, from the bottom of the friction material to the top at the thinnest pointStandard Thickness: .100" (2.54mm) LIMIT: .039" (1.00mm)
Install the starting clutch holder (PA-47457) onto the starting clutch and engage the tabs (C)
