Engine Removal
NOTE: The engine removal procedure described below removes the engine and transmission as an assembly, and the engine is then removed from the transmission caseThe transmission can be removed separately from the engine (see Chapter "Transmission Removal" procedure)123456Clean work areaThoroughly clean the enginetransmission and chassisDisconnect the negative (-) battery cable (see Chapter "Maintenance")Drain the engine oilDisconnect the spark plug high tension leadRemove the following body components: 78Seat Side Panels Rear RackRack SupportRear Cab Footwells 10Remove transmission linkage rod (A) and vent hose (B)Speed Sensor Gear Indicator Switch 9Disconnect gear indicator switch harness and speed sensor harness at the transmission
