FUEL SYSTEM Carburetor Inspection
1Remove the carburetor slide assemblyDisassemble the components and inspect for wearInspect slide needle and look for discoloration, shiny spots, or an area that looks different than the rest of the needleThe middle to upper portion of the needle contacts the needle jet and is the most likely wear pointIf slide needle shows signs of wear replace both the needle and needle jet to prevent rich conditionInspect this area E-Clip Retainer Inspect 3Inspect the idle speed adjust screw tip for flat spots and the pilot mixture screw tip for damageIf any damage is present on either screw, it must be replaced
