MAINTENANCE Battery Installation
1Place the fully charged battery in its holder2Attach the hold-down strap(s)3Connect and tighten the red positive (+) cable first4Connect and tighten the black negative (-) cable last5Torque the battery terminal bolts to 3.5 ftlbs(4.7 Nm) 6Verify that the cables are properly routedNOTE: When installing new battery, make sure it's fully charged prior to its initial useUsing new battery that has not been fully charged can damage the battery and result in shorter lifeIt can also hinder vehicle performanceIf charging is necessary, use .5 amp battery charger
Spark Plug Inspection
1Remove spark plug high tension leadClean plug area so no dirt and debris can fall into engine when plug is removed

Battery Storage
Whenever the vehicle is not used for period of three months or more, remove the battery from the vehicle, ensure that it's fully charged, and store it out of the sun in cool, dry placeCheck battery voltage each month during storage and recharge as needed to maintain full charge23Remove spark plugInspect electrodes for wear and carbon buildupLook for sharp outer edge with no rounding or erosion of the electrodesInspect electrode for wear and buildup Spark Plug Gap .024.028" (.6-.7mm)
