MAINTENANCE Reinstall dipstick and push it into placeDo not lock the dipstickNOTE: Make certain the dipstick is inserted all the way into the filler tube to keep the angle and depth of stick consistentWhen reinstalling the dipstick, make certain to seat the lever lock5Remove dipstick and check to see that the oil level is in the normal rangeAdd oil as indicated by the level on the dipstickDo not overfill(See NOTE below!) NOTE: Due to the dipstick entry angle into the crankcase, the oil level will read higher on the bottom side of the dipstickProper level indication is determined on the upper side of the dipstick as it is being removed, regardless of the level marks being on top or on bottom(See illustration) 4
Oilfilter Change
1234Place vehicle on level surfaceRun engine two to three minutes until warmStop engineClean area around drain plug at bottom of enginePlace drain pan beneath crankcase and remove drain plug
CAUTION
Do not allow hot oil to come into contact with your skin, as serious burns may result5Allow oil to drain completely6Replace the sealing washer on drain plugNOTE: The sealing surfaces on drain plug and oil tank should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches7Reinstall drain plug and torque to specification
