CLUTCHING Belt Installation
12Loop belt over the drive clutch and over top of the driven sheaveWhile pushing down on top of belt, turn the back or moveable driven sheave clockwise2With tool touching rear of driven clutch inner sheave, the distance at point "A" should be 18"
If the distance is greater than 18" or less than 116", clutch alignment must be adjusted as follows: 3456Remove drive and driven clutchSee "PVT System Service, Disassembly Remove PVT inner coverLoosen all engine mountsMove front of engine to the right or left slightly until alignment is correctTighten engine mounts and verify alignment is correctCenter line
The belt then should be able to be pushed down into and between the sheavesMeasure offset above and below centerline 7Measure belt deflection and measure offset both above and below sheave centerlinesAdjust if necessaryNOTE: On some models, minor adjustments can be made by adding shims between the frame and front lower left engine mount to increase the distance at point "A"If shim is present, it can be removed to decrease the distance at point "A"
