ENGINE Reaming The Valve Guide 5Allow cylinder head to cool to room temperatureApply cutting oil to the reamerGuides should be reamed from the valve spring side of the cylinder headReam each guide to size by turning the reamer clockwise continuallyContinue to rotate reamer clockwise during removal of the tool If the contact area of the initial cut is greater than 75, continue to cut the seat until all pits are removed and new seat surface is evidentNOTE: Remove only the amount necessary to repair the seat surfaceof material

11To check the contact area of the seat on the valve face, apply thin coating of Prussian BlueTM paste to the valve seatIf using an interference angle (46o) apply black permanent marker to the entire valve face (A)Clean guides thoroughly with hot soapy water and nylon brushRinse and dry with compressed airApply clean engine oil to guidesInstall pilot into valve guideApply cutting oil to valve seat and cutterPlace 46o cutter on the pilot and make light cut
