MAINTENANCE GENERAL VEHICLE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
Pre-RideDaily Inspection
Perform the following pre-ride inspection daily, and when servicing the vehicle at each scheduled maintenance Tirescheck condition and pressures Fuel and oil tanksfill both tanks to their proper level; Do not overfill oil tank All brakescheck operation and adjustment (includes auxiliary brake) Throttlecheck for free operation and closing HeadlightTaillightBrakelightcheck operation of all indicator lights and switches Engine stop switchcheck for proper function Wheelscheck for tightness of wheel nuts and axle nuts; check to be sure axle nuts are secured by cotter pins Air cleaner elementcheck for dirt; clean or replace Steeringcheck for free operation noting any unusual looseness in any area Loose partsvisually inspect vehicle for any damaged or loose nuts, bolts or fasteners Engine coolantcheck for proper level at the recovery bottle Check all rear suspension components for wear or damage1234Inspect shift linkage cable, clevis pins, and pivot bushings and replace if worn or damagedBe sure idle speed is adjusted properlyPlace gear selector in neutralMake sure the transmission bell crank is engaged in the neutral position detentsWith two wrenches loosen the outside jam nut counterclockwiseTurn the outside jam nut 12 turnsPerform this procedure on the shift lever end, alsoInside Jam Nut Outside Jam Nut
