BRAKES 13Install diaphragm, cover and screwsAlign the nub (if present) into the proper hole in the master cylinderWiggle and press down on the cap to be sure if fits evenly and snugTorque the screw on the handle side first then torque other screw to inlbs(0.56 Nm)NOTE: Be sure the master cylinder cap is even all the way aroundIf the cap is cocked to one side, repeat the processRubber "nub" must be aligned and not pinched when inserted into master cylinder 15Check brake system for fluid leaks and inspect all hoses and lines for wear or abrasionReplace hose if wear or abrasion is found
MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL
1Clean master cylinder and reservoir assemblyMake sure you have clean work area to disassemble brake components
Rubber "nub"

2Place shop towel under brake line connection at master cylinderLoosen banjo bolt; remove bolt and sealing washersCAUTION: Cap is Even Brake fluid will damage finished surfacesDo not allow brake fluid to come in contact with finished surfaces3Remove master cylinder from handlebars4Hold brake upright and continue to remove master cylinderCover brake line to avoid spillage
