BRAKES 4If changing fluid, remove old fluid from reservoir with Mity Vact pump or similar toolNOTE: Fluid may be forced from supply port (B) when brake lever is pumpedPlace diaphragm (C) in reservoir to prevent spillsDo not install coverSee Illustration on the previous page7Slowly pump brake lever (D) until pressure builds and holds8While maintaining lever pressure, open bleeder screwClose bleeder screw and release brake leverNOTE: Do not release lever before bleeder screw is tight or air may be drawn into caliperBleeder Screw Torque MAX 25-30 in.lbs(2.80 -3.40 Nm) 9Repeat procedure until clean fluid appears in bleeder hose and all air has been purgedAdd fluid as necessary to maintain level in reservoirCAUTION: Maintain at least 12 (1.27 cm) of brake fluid in the reservoir to prevent air from entering the master cylinderPolaris DOT Brake Fluid (PN 2870990) 6Begin bleeding procedure with the caliper that is farthest from the master cylinderInstall box end wrench on caliper bleeder screwAttach clean, clear hose to fitting and place the other end in clean containerBe sure the hose fits tightly on fitting(E) is Auxiliary Brake Line, (F) is Hand Brake LineOuter Bleed Screw Auxiliary Brake Inner Bleed Screw Hand Brake 10Tighten bleeder screw securely and remove bleeder hoseTorque the bleeder screw to 2530 in.lbs(2.80 3.40 Nm)11Repeat procedure Steps 5-9 for the remaining caliper(s)12Add Polaris Dot Brake Fluid (PN 2870990) to MAX level inside reservoir
