ENGINE Timing Marks NOTE: To remove the water pump seal, the gearstator housing must be removedThe water pump seal cannot be removed or installed with the gearstator housing attached to the engineShaft damage will occurNOTE: Install the waterpump seal (N) with the seal lip facing out (towards the crankcase)Use of hydraulic press is recommended for this procedure29Install new crankshaft seal (P) into the gearstator housing cover (O)Use the Universal Driver Handle (PU-45543) and the Main Seal Installer (PU-45483) to seat the crankshaft seal into placePU-45543 P

Timing Marks Counterbalance Gear and Camshaft Gear Bolt Torque: 22 ftlbs(30 Nm)

GEARSTATOR HOUSING SEAL REPLACEMENT IMPORTANT: Due to seal design and construction, these seals MUST be installed dry (no lubricant) during assemblyUse of lubricants (oil, soapy water, etc will not allow the seal to wear-in and seal properlyDo not touch seal surface or allow seal surface to come in contact with contaminates during installationThoroughly clean parts, tools and hands before installation28Before installing the gearstator housing, replace the seals in the coverInstall new water pump seal (N) into the gearstator housing (O)Use the Water Pump Mechanical Seal Installer (PA-44995) to properly install the seal to the correct depth in the cover
