Connect an ammeter in series with the negative battOfY cableCheck for current draw with the key off
amps (battery discharge)Reverse meter leads if positive reading is indicated
excessive, loads should be
disconnected from the system one by one until the draw is eliminatedCheck component wiring as well
as the component for partial shorts to ground to eliminate the drawRefer to Illustration on the next page
Shift transmission inl neutral and start the engineWith the engine running af jde d'sconnect the neqaM cable from the battery without disturbing the roW leads, Observe meter readings and tachometerNote RPM at which the battery starts 10 charge (ammeter indication is positive)

7With lights and other electrical load off, the "break even" point should occur at approximately 1500
RPM or lower,
