IGNITION SYSTEM TESTING FLOW CHART
Whenever troubleshooting an electrical problemfirst check all terminal connections to be sure they are clean and tightAlso be sure that colors match when wires are connectedUse the fol lowing pages as guide for
troub leshootingThe resistance values are also given on the specification pages
Condition: No Spark or intermittent spark
Replace Spark Plug
Disconnect the black wire at the COl module to isolate the ignition from the kill systemVerify the COl has good ground (Brown) for operationDoes it have soark?
Test the ignition switch, engine stop switch, and speed limrter circuit for shorts to ground-Check connectors for moisturewire colo matching or co rrosion
Disconnect the exciter coil and pulse co il connector from the COl moduleMeasure the resistance of the exciter coil and pulse coil (where applicable)Refer to the wiring schematic for meter connections and specificationsCompare resutts to the specifications on the exploded viewsAre all with in specifications?
