GENERAL INFORMATION 8Turn handlebars from left to right through the entire turning rangeIf idle speed increases, check for proper cable routingIf cable is routed properly and in good condition, repeat adjustment procedure
OIL PUMP ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1Before adjusting the oil pump, check engine idle RPM and set to specificationAdjust if necessary

Check engine idle RPM and set to specification before adjustments 2Check and adjust throttle lever free play (ETC switch)3Apply parking brake4Remove fan shroud5Start the engine and let it idle6Keep away from moving fan7Place very slight pressure on the throttle lever until all freeplay is removed from throttle cable to carburetor (to the point where the carb slide is just starting to rise and engine RPM begins to increase)8Expose oil pump adjusterLoosen lock nut and turn adjuster in or out until all freeplay is removed from oil pump cable (the point where the oil pump arm is just starting to move off of its stop)
