MAINTENANCE
OIL AND FILTER CHANGE
1Place vehicle on level surface2Clean area around drain plug at bottom of oil pan3Run engine two to three minutes until warmStop engine4Place drain pan beneath oil pan and remove drain plug from under the crankcaseCAUTION: Oil may be hotDo not allow hot oil to come into contact with skin as serious burns may result5Allow oil to drain completelyNOTE: It is not necessary to drain the oil from the oil cooler, unless contaminants, water, or debris are found in the crankcase oil6Replace sealing washer (A) on drain plugNOTE: The sealing surfaces on drain plug and oil tank should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches7Reinstall drain plug and torque to 14 ftlbs(19 Nm)
8The oil filter is located on the right side of the machinePlace shop towels beneath oil filterUsing an oil filter wrench, turn filter counterclockwise to remove

9Using clean dry cloth, clean filter sealing surface on crankcase10Lubricate O-ring on new filter with film of engine oilCheck to make sure the O-ring is in good condition11Install new filter and turn by hand until filter gasket contacts the sealing surface, then turn and additional 12 turnNOTE: The sealing surfaces on the drain plug and crankcase should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches12Remove dipstick and fill tank with quarts (1.9 l) of Polaris Premium Synthetic Oil (PN 2871281)13Place gear selector in neutral and set parking brake14Start the engine and let it idle for one to two minutesStop the engine and inspect for leaks15Re-check the oil level on the dipstick and add oil as necessary to bring the level to the upper mark on the dipstick16Dispose of used filter and oil properly
