MAINTENANCE sealed properly, water may enter the recoil housing and damage componentsWater will enter the recoil housing if the starter handle is disengaged from the rope guide when under waterAfter travelling in wet areas, the recoil housing and starter should always be drained completely by removing the recoilDo not open the crankcase drain unless the engine has ingested waterSome engine oil will be lost if crankcase drain is openedIf recoil handle seal has been damaged, the handle assembly should be replaced
ENGINE OIL LEVEL
To check the oil level: 1Set machine on level surface2Start and run engine for 20-30 secondsThis will return oil to its true level in the engine sump3Stop engine, remove dipstick and wipe dry with clean cloth4Reinstall dipstick, screwing into place5The dipstick must be screwed completely in to ensure accurate measurement6Remove dipstick and check to see that the oil level is in the normal rangeThe oil should be between the top of the bottom crosshatched area and the bottom of the top crosshatched areaAdd oil as indicated by the level on the dipstickDo not overfillNormal Oil Operating Range is between crosshatch
