BRAKE NOISE TROUBLESHOOTING
Dirt or dust buildup on the brake pads and disc is the most common cause of brake noise (squeal caused by vibration)If cleaning does not reduce the occurrence of brake noise, Permatex Disc Brake Quiet (available from most auto parts stores) can be applied to the back of the padsFollow directions on the packageThis will keep pads in contact with caliper piston(s) to reduce the chance of squeaks caused by dirt or dust
Brake Noise Troubleshooting
Possible Cause Dirt, dust, or imbedded material on pads or disc Remedy Spray disc and pads with CRC Brakeleen or an equivalent non-flammable aerosol brake cleanerRemove pads andor disc hub to clean imbedded material from disc or padsAdjust pad stop (front calipers) Check position of controlsswitchesSet to proper level Clean compensating port InspectRepair as necessary Clean piston(s) seal Educate operator
